Haus Sonneck

Great.

We spent a week here with my ten-year-old son and definitely want to return. The house and rooms are lovely, clean, and well cared for, and the hosts are very friendly. Breakfast was excellent too. It’s peaceful but still well placed for trips around the area. The wellness area downstairs, with a sauna and infrared cabin, was a real highlight, though it costs extra to use.

Haus Sonneck is tucked away in peaceful, idyllic Blasiwald, a few kilometers from Schluchsee. We stayed for seven days in August 2024, and our visit was listed as August 13, 2025 - August 22, 2025. It’s an affordable place to stay with breakfast included. The small breakfast buffet was excellent, with cold cuts, cheese, and other options. You need to put your breakfast requests, such as a boiled egg, on the list the day before. Rooms are clean and each has its own furnishings, and there’s plenty of parking by the house. Dinner can be arranged on request, and when it’s prepared, the food is very tasty. There’s a good range of drinks in the fridge; just add what you take to the list, and the prices are reasonable. From the house, we enjoyed hikes toward Muchenland and places such as St. Blasien. Schluchsee is also within easy walking distance. Starting with the second night, guests receive the Hochschwarzwald Card and KONUS card for bus and train travel. Many thanks to Jitty and Gerbrand, who looked after our meals and were always happy to chat. We wholeheartedly recommend Haus Sonneck and will certainly return. THANK YOU for a wonderful holiday!

It’s quite tucked away in the woods, which was just right for us when we needed to relax and get away from everyday life. The hosts are both very friendly and glad to share tips about the Black Forest. Our room was thoughtfully furnished, and the garden is lovely, with a charming layout and a nice spot for an evening drink. Breakfast was plentiful and excellent, a great way to start the day. There are lovely hiking and cycling trails nearby, and Schluchsee lake is easy to reach. Shops are in the next larger village. We’d happily book a room here again.
