Ferienbauernhof Gördes

The Gördes family made us feel very welcome and let us see what everyday farm life is like. We stayed in the Taubenschlag apartment in early January with our son, who'll soon be three. It was spotless and had everything we needed, and the animals and little playground were great for children. We'd happily return.

There are lovely hiking and jogging routes straight from the farm, and it's wonderfully secluded. We had a really relaxing family holiday surrounded by nature. For rainy days, there's a playroom downstairs; outside, kids can see and, with the owners' permission, touch the ponies, chickens, rabbits, cows, and goats. Best not to pet the goats because of their horns. You can ask about tractor or pony rides, too. The rooms are set up thoughtfully for children, with outlet covers, cutlery, a high chair, a kids' room, and a stool for the sink. Highly recommend it.

Our five-year-old was thrilled that the farm is still working. He got to ride with farmer Stefan on the tractor and farm loader, help out, and ask questions. The children can roam freely without worrying about traffic, and although the farm feels tucked away, it was central for most of the places we wanted to visit. The apartment was well equipped, including coffee, filters, salt, pepper, flour, and sugar, and the bread delivery was perfect. The blackout blinds were great for our light-sensitive son, and the apartment was well insulated. It was hot outside at the Swallow's Nest, but you wouldn't have known inside. We also loved the balcony, the view, and the plants. Sauerland works really well for families, and we'll definitely come back. One of our best stays so far, thank you!
