Kirsten, Herman, and the whole team were amazing hosts. We brought athletes and staff to Hotel Albers for a big sports event nearby, which was a tough group for the hotel to manage. We weren’t easy guests, but they handled all our different requests and then some, with skill, charm, and endless patience. Kirsten and Herman kept everyone in good spirits whatever was going on. The hotel itself is a unique historic piece of cultural architecture, with plenty of interesting places to sit, from the cozy bar to the very unusual bridge room. You have to see that room to believe it. It isn’t luxury, but it feels real and authentic. Good food, good beer, good chats, good people. 10/10.

After we checked in and explained that we’d come to Bödefeld to look for my ancestors, they quickly got in touch with Philipp, the town historian. Within two hours, Philipp had connected us to the right Klauke family. We never could have found them on our own, since there are 10 different Klauke families. The room was very spacious and clean, breakfast was included and wunderbar, and dinner and drinks at the restaurant were delicious. Thanks again for all the help. We’ll stay here again when we’re back in Bôdefeld!

Staff were very friendly, and the food was good. Like most places nearby, though, it’s pricey for what you get, especially the rooms and spa area. The rooms look much older than the booking photos suggest, and the spa is small and old too. Still, staying somewhere like this for a few days in winter can be fun. It feels like going back in time.

After a long day skiing, this was a perfect spot for a good meal. Our group of 10 had friendly, really helpful staff looking after us. See you next time!

We were really disappointed with dinner at Hotel Albers. The waiters were unfriendly, and the food tasted stale and bad. Wouldn’t recommend it.
