Sauerland Alpin Hotel

The Sauerland hills look great from this quiet spot. We had the all-inclusive package for 4 days, and our room was larger than advertised, which was a nice surprise. The shower had strong, pleasant pressure, though the sound insulation and cleaning were a bit below par.

There’s plenty to do in this region, from hiking, walking, restaurants and biking to lots of other opportunities. Dogs are allowed, and the staff are very kind. The building isn’t the newest, but it’s maintained, and the rooms are clean and comfortable!

The indoor pool was a highlight, with clean, pleasantly warm water, and it stays open until 11pm. It’s a lovely area for hiking too, and pet friendly. The rooms are clean, though I’d have chosen another one because mine had no fridge. It was a last-minute reservation. Staff were friendly, but the buffet and menu could be better. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and the area is beautiful. I’ll definitely go again.

I stayed here a year ago and still remember it fondly. The dinner was so good and local, and the views were beautiful. Our room was the biggest of all, but it got hot on the fourth floor and there was no airco. The bar had a little self-service drink station with tea, juice, coffee, and beer available all day, at least for us. Everything was nice and clean. There weren’t many vegetarian options, so one star off, though making your own waffle in the morning helped make up for it. The little bowling area was super cool for entertaining yourself and others, and the pool was neat and big, ideal for exercise after all the good food. We enjoyed our stay! I also loved the bartender who was Dutch too, I think from Brabant, and I think his name was bart. If you read this, I’d love to chat more 😊.
