We stayed for a week during the heather bloom. The apartment was spacious, clean, and very well equipped. We spent our days hiking, so we can't say anything about the café below, though at least its noise and smells didn't disturb us. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the town center and its restaurants. Schneverdingen itself is pleasant, quiet, and well maintained.
The Heidecafé by the village pond is run by the landlord, downstairs from the apartment, and it's fantastic. The cake slices are delicious and reasonably priced. We stayed midweek spontaneously at the Lil's Heide Luxe vacation apartment, and the booking was quick and easy. My wife, young daughter, and I felt right at home. Everything was very clean and well equipped, even down to a hand blender. There's no freezer, but otherwise it had all the comforts of home. The landlords were friendly and helpful. The location made it easy to walk to the town center, the Heidegarten (heath garden), and the Quellenbad (spring baths). We'd definitely recommend it and would gladly stay again. Thanks!
