The location was great, and the shared kitchen was easily the nicest part of the house. It was quiet, too, and although there was a small key issue when we arrived, it got sorted right away. The room itself was okay, though nothing special. The bed was really uncomfortable and left both of us with back pain, which was especially rough since we already had back problems. The bathroom was in poor shape: a loose floor tile, a grimy shower head and hose, and a strong musty smell that might have been mold, though I can't be sure. We were visiting family and barely needed to use it, but we still felt grossed out by it. Things don't have to be new, but this was hard to stomach. We were very glad to leave and wouldn't stay again. We'd rather pay a little more.

Blue Bird across the street has live music on weekends, and you can hear it pretty clearly in the room, though quiet hours are observed. There are a few parking spots out front, and the key safe worked perfectly. The old town is very close, and Lidl is just a three-minute walk away. The shared kitchen is a nice place to cook, but it makes the accommodation feel more like a hostel than a holiday apartment. The rooms are tiny, with an even smaller bathroom. It feels like they squeezed in as many rooms as they could. The little sink belongs in a guest toilet, not a bathroom. The owner was reachable, but couldn't get the broken toilet seat fixed quickly. It kept shifting when we used it, and it was the only spot to put things in that cramped bathroom. Our room also wasn't ready at check-in. A few small things, like missing teaspoons and broken hotplates, need attention too. Fixing issues promptly would make the place more comfortable for future guests.

The mattress made the night really unpleasant. It was just a spring mattress, very uncomfortable to sleep on, and we were relieved when morning came. For the price, you can't expect too much, but this one was awful. Such a shame. There were some nice things about the guesthouse: it was tidy, nicely furnished, and full of thoughtful little touches, and the price was good. But arrival was stressful. Since nobody is on site, you need a code to get the key, and apparently the guesthouse hadn't sent mine. I was stuck outside on arrival day, and the owner wasn't reachable right away, so for a while we didn't know if we'd have a room that night. It did get sorted out eventually. Still, I'd say it's recommendable for a short stay.

We arrived half an hour before check-in and couldn't get the key or reach anyone. My request for an earlier check-in had been ignored, and the owner was unreachable through both Booking and the phone number provided. The room wasn't the one we'd booked, and it was filthy, with hair and dust everywhere. There were no towels, the toilet seat was broken, and the shower curtain had mold on it. A complete disgrace.
