Landhaus Sonnenstern

Schönau am Königssee is such a cute town, with restaurants, small beer gardens, and cafes all within walking distance of the hotel. It’s about 25 minutes on foot to the lake, along a beautiful route, and the air here is something else. We enjoyed the nature and towns nearby during the day, and looked forward to returning to our temporary home each evening. We felt so welcome that we extended our stay and changed some plans to have more time there. Landhaus Sonnenstern was the highlight of our family trip and made it unforgettable. Kristoff and his wife run the place professionally and with real heart and personal care. It’s newly renovated, bright, and spacious. We first had a double room, then moved to the apartment. Both were very comfortable, spotlessly clean, with great beds and amazing views. The amenities were high quality. Breakfast was fresh, healthy, and delicious, and the outdoor seating area was lovely. If you want comfort and a quiet getaway close to nature in a beautiful Bavarian town, this place is a gem. Thank you, Kristoff, for everything. I hope to visit again soon.

A young couple runs this hotel, and we felt warmly welcomed from the start. They explained everything clearly, and the service was excellent. Our clean, spacious room had a breathtaking balcony view. Breakfast the next morning was simple, with good quality choices. Wonderful in every way. If we come back, I’ll book here again for sure. Highly recommend!

The owners who run the place gave us such kind treatment and helpful tips for making the most of our time in the area. Their attention to detail really stood out: a well-mowed garden, fresh flowers on the table, a little chocolate, carefully prepared breakfast food, and spotless cleaning throughout. You can tell they’ve put a lot of work and resources into the place. I wish them the best, they deserve it. Our room in this lovely country house was big, clean, and had a great view, plus a nice balcony facing it. There’s a gym, sauna, and a lounge area with a bar. Everything was great. Glad we got to spend a few days here. It felt like a 5-star hotel experience, and I recommend it 100%.

The landlords were kind and shared lots of useful information. Thanks to Christophe, we got to enjoy the beautiful scenery and ski rides in Königsee instead of missing out. The room was clean, and breakfast was impressive, possibly the best I’ve ever had. A lovely place.
