Familotel Schreinerhof

The kids had so many activities to choose from, along with childcare, a child-friendly buffet, and an amazing pool area with slides. The facilities are incredible and seem to cover everything. Our room was very spacious, with a separate room for the children. We could easily have stayed another week. Definitely coming back!

The knife on my table this morning was dirty, with little stones and gravel stuck to it. I know mistakes can happen, but staff should at least check the cutlery they're setting out. Honestly, this was too much. We paid an extremely high price and had looked forward to this family holiday for a long time. There were six of us, including my disabled 86-year-old father. On the first evening, nobody greeted us in the dining room, and our table was set for three instead of six. We asked for more cutlery, but no one came back. The service was rude and unprofessional, with one excuse after another, even though the place wasn't crowded. I don't usually write a review before checking out, but this is unacceptable. It isn't worth the money. Very poor service. Stay away.

Even with so many rooms, everything ran smoothly and the standards and entertainment stayed impressively high. The quality was great, and the staff were kind and flexible. The whole family loved our stay. Those three days felt like a month of holiday. Thanks again!

The biggest issue for us was the flies. They were all over the common areas and swarming the food in the dining room. We spent a ridiculous amount of time shooing them away, which took away from the hotel's many good qualities. Fly lamps seem to have been tried, but they haven't worked, and I'm not sure what else can be done. It's such a shame, because this is the best children's hotel we've visited, and there's so much for kids to do that they can't get bored. The new rooms are clean and well appointed. My only room complaint is the lack of roller shutters. In summer the sun is so bright that the curtains in the main bedroom and living area don't block it out, even though the children's bedroom has much darker curtains. Why not use those there too? The food is superb, with plenty of choices, including lots of freshly cut fruit and vegetables. After reading the negative food reviews, I can only think those people hadn't actually stayed here. The staff are welcoming, friendly, and helpful, even if you don't speak German.
