Landhotel Garni Schweizerhaus

The couple who run the hotel are easily the best part, such lovely hosts. The room was spacious and very clean, and the service was great. It's in a small town near lots of nature reserves, with the waterfall just 12 min away by car. Breakfast is worth getting, with plenty of local charcuterie and warm bread. It's pet friendly, too. There are lots of good trail running routes nearby. I'd really recommend staying here for an authentic local experience and to support local businesses.

We had a room of his own for our son, which was great. The host was kind and welcoming, breakfast was super good, and parking was easy. The place was very clean and neat. I’d happily come back 💘

Free parking right outside the hotel's front porch was handy. The common area had coffee available all day, and our room came with sparkling water and drinks in the fridge. Breakfast offered a great spread of fruit, ham, cheese, and bread. The host was welcoming and hospitable, and the room was clean and smelled pleasant. Wifi was fast. The shower had hot water and good pressure, and the provided hairdryer was powerful. I stayed in the first week of July, and the room got stuffy before sunset without air conditioning or a fan. Opening the window a little meant risking small insects getting in. It cooled down after 10pm. The bed was a bit creaky and softer than I like.

The hosts made us feel right at home and gave us such thoughtful attention. After breakfast each day, the hostess offered tips for things to do with the kids, and her suggestions were great. One evening I couldn't work out the coffee machine, and she happened to walk back from her home right then to show me how it worked. She was happy to help with whatever we needed. The gentleman even removed a bee nest from the kids' play set out back, which saved the day. There was free coffee all day and a mini bar in the room. They also made sure us Americans had still water, which was so sweet. Breakfast was a huge spread with meats, cheeses, breads, jams, fruit, eggs, cakes, coffee, juice, tea, and more. We loved the super comfortable beds. The couple who run the place are pure joy, kind, attentive, and generous. This is the most amazing place to stay in the Black Forest. We're trying to find a reason to come back just so we can stay here again!
