Hotel zum Ochsen Schönwald

The courtyard was such a peaceful place to sit after dinner with a crisp *Radler* beer. As the sun went down behind the hills, I could hear farmers’ tractors baling hay in the distance. It was a lovely, unhurried country evening. My stay at **Hotel zum Ochsen** in Schönwald im Schwarzwald was a delight. The family run welcome felt warm and personal, and my room was spacious, spotless, and nicely furnished, with fresh forest air and quiet views of Schönwald in the morning. The hotel also made things easy for me as an EV driver with its charging station. The wellness area was tranquil, and the spa treatments and massages helped me unwind. Meals were another highlight, with fresh local ingredients, Black Forest specialties, and a generous breakfast spread, all served with care. It’s a real gem for heartfelt hospitality, good food, and a relaxing stay. I can’t wait to return! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The rooms were really comfortable, and the staff were extremely friendly. It’s in a lovely location. My only suggestion would be to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

The restaurant food was superb, and the staff were very friendly, nice, and helpful. The hotel has an old fashioned look, but with modern conveniences like elevators. Our room even had a balcony, and the town was lovely, quiet, and full of fresh air. This was the most comfortable hotel we stayed in in Germany. No complaints at all!

The big breakfast buffet was my favorite part, with just about anything you could want. I’ve never seen so many tea and jam choices. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious too, and everything was cooked just right. It’s a really nice hotel owned by the seventh generation. My room was clean, modern, and comfortable, with a rain shower and a handy towel warmer. The only small issue was that room 8 didn’t have a phone. I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it for the future.
