The breakfast was a real plus for us: my wife has celiac disease, and the gluten-free bread was among the best she’s had. We also made good use of the apartment with our two young kids, and managed some lovely road-bike rides nearby. With the children along, our rides were only 40-80 km, but there were plenty of beautiful routes close by. We visited at the end of September, when the pool was open, and enjoyed a swim. I can imagine it’s especially nice in warmer weather. We had a wonderful short stay at Pension Altvogtshof and would love to return. Thanks!

A kettle in the room would have been a nice extra, so we could make tea while looking out at the Black Forest, the cherry on top of the Schwarzwäldertorte. Apart from that, our stay at Pension Altvogtshof was wonderful. It seems equally suited to families with children and couples, with thoughtful details and an authentic feel throughout. The hosts were attentive without being intrusive. I’d recommend it without hesitation.

The rooms are roomy and luxurious, breakfast is delicious, and the whole place feels beautiful and peaceful. My partner and I were welcomed so warmly by the owners, Max and Christoph. They spoiled us and helped with everything we needed during our vacation. Thank you for such wonderful hospitality.

We spent five nights here with our two children, and still wished we’d had more time. Pension Altvogtshof is in a peaceful spot with lovely countryside views, while nearby towns and lake Titisee are still within reach. The place was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. Max and Chris were always around to help, and their daily tips on places to visit and eat made our holiday. There’s plenty to do at the house too, including a pool, table tennis, billiards and darts. We really enjoyed our stay. Five days just wasn’t enough! Thanks, guys.

Breakfast was a lovely spread of local flavors, and the amenities blend modern comfort with traditional charm. This Gasthaus sits among beautiful landscapes and charming villages in the heart of Germany’s Black Forest. The hosts are wonderful and made us feel like family. It was a peaceful, fairytale-like stay, and we can’t wait to return.
