The grounds are beautiful, and there’s an okay indoor leisure pool, but the meal service was very poor. Meals were always the same heavily processed foods: Bologna-type slices, only a few rare pieces of smoked ham, or maybe a small piece of Landjäger. The salad was nice, though it always came with vinegar already mixed in. Main courses were hard to identify, and we never saw a single piece of “real” meat during our stay. There also weren’t consistent options for dairy allergies, which aren’t the same as lactose intolerance, or for gluten allergies. The rooms are small and basic. The very expensive grounds somehow sit in stark contrast to the stingy meal service.

The food selection was suitable, the food was good, and the staff were friendly and provided excellent service. Rooms were a decent size. I found the indoor climate a bit too warm and probably too dry for my taste. The bridge between the two buildings stays dry, but you can still feel the outside temperature, which can be quite a contrast in colder seasons. Some bedside lamps point the wrong way and shine on the neighboring guest. Bring an extension cord if you need power near your bed, since not every bed has a socket. The WiFi signal in our room was weak.

Breakfast was exceptionally good, and reception was very friendly. The rooms were tidy, though a bit old-school. We had a beautiful view and a great location. We ran out of time to check out the swimming pool, with so much to see outside at the nearby former garden exhibition when the weather’s good.

There’s lots of space throughout the facilities, and plenty of meeting rooms that work well for small or large groups. Windows all around the buildings give you a beautiful view. The food was great, and I’ll definitely visit again.
