The owners made us feel so welcome, and Viktor and Irma deserve a big thank you for that. We loved the varied, fresh breakfast and enjoyed the evenings there too. For getting out into the region, the location worked perfectly for hikes and day trips, and the owners had great local activity and restaurant tips. The tower room was our highlight, with such a lovely, cozy feel. We had a fantastic weekend at Hotel Schwarzaburg and would happily return.

The owners were friendly, and the hotel has a beautiful view from a very convenient location. But it needs a lot of work and wasn't very clean: two curtains were coming loose at the bottom, and there were a few cobwebs. It also isn't wheelchair accessible. Breakfast was fine, though nothing special.

Right by the castle, this cozy hotel has a wonderful view. The hosts were warm and welcoming.

The host couple were friendly, but that was about the only good part. When I called, I was told something untrue about the restaurant, which has actually been closed for a long time. We had to drive 10 km each way to find dinner in the evenings. The place also felt quite dated.
