Kolpinghotel Schweinfurt

Kolping Hotel has a fresh, modern feel, with clear, comfortable rooms that are newly furnished and equipped with eco friendly features. In central Schweinfurt, it still has a very quiet setting, and guests can unwind and enjoy dinner in the cozy beer garden. The breakfast team is charming and makes the morning a delight. What I liked most was the hotel's positive spirit and inclusive hospitality, which makes everyone feel welcome.

Breakfast was delicious, and the hotel is lovely, clean, and modern. During the week, the facilities are great, including the restaurant for evening meals. On Sundays, reception closes at 15:30 and an automated service takes over. That's convenient, but feels a bit soulless if you prefer a personal welcome. There's no restaurant or other hospitality service after breakfast on Sundays, though town and local places to eat are an easy walk away. I missed having a kettle or fridge in the room, but I'd still recommend staying here.

The noise was the main problem, and it ruined the night enough to leave me at three stars. On Saturday, people were shouting in the street until 1 a.m. It wasn't other guests, and we could hear it even with the windows shut. It may have been connected to a wedding party at the hotel. The room also felt hot because opening the windows would have let in even more noise. The bathroom door wouldn't close properly, and when we arrived at 7 p.m. the beer garden was closed, so we couldn't get food at the hotel. Thankfully, there are plenty of nearby restaurants. There were some good points: the HD Panasonic TV had a sharp picture, the bedside lights had USB ports, and breakfast was delicious and varied, with fresh breads and rolls and excellent coffee.

The restaurant serves good food, and it's an easy walk to the centrum and riverside. The hotel was very nice, with clean rooms, good beds for sleeping, and extremely helpful staff.
