Pension Am Finkenberg

Great service and conditions overall. Like many country guesthouses in Europe, it could use an air conditioning option.

We come back every year and are always happy to stay here. The rooms are modern, with a great bathroom, and breakfast is fabulous every time. The hosts are very friendly and helpful.

The garden is a dream, especially in summer when the dahlias are in full bloom. You can have breakfast on the terrace overlooking Sebnitz, or in the large, bright room on the ground floor. Breakfast is plentiful, with homemade spreads and sometimes the landlady’s legendary meatballs. She and her husband run the place on their own, and I admire how they manage it while keeping everything to such a high standard. The house feels welcoming and homey, the rooms are tastefully decorated, everything is clean, and the beds are very comfortable. I’m picky about both food and interior design, but I really can’t find anything to fault. I’ve been coming to Pension am Finkenberg for years and no longer look elsewhere. I first found it after one of my early visits to Sebnitz, when I paid a lot for a supposedly four-star hotel and then spent ages looking for somewhere better. I was so pleasantly surprised by Pension am Finkenberg, from the friendly, down-to-earth landlady to a room that felt more comfortable than that expensive hotel. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for tasteful, clean, quiet accommodation in Sebnitz. It’s a real gem.

We were very satisfied, and I can definitely recommend this guesthouse. The location is very good, everything was clean, and the modern rooms have a great bathroom. Breakfast was tasty and varied. Five stars from us!
