It was a family room, but the beds were awful, really hard, like sleeping on the floor. For 166€ a night, I complained, and they just said, “Why did you book here?” That was a terrible response. Nice hotel, but bad service and very poor beds.

I slept well in a decent room, though it felt a little dated. The owner was friendly, and breakfast was generous, with lots to choose from and good coffee. We also ate well at the restaurant, especially the pasta. The waiter with black hair deserves a mention. He was polite, professional, enthusiastic, and made guests feel as if they were at the Hilton. Keep it up!

I stayed here for a week on a work trip a few years ago and still remember how welcoming the family who ran the hotel were. My flight was delayed and I arrived at 1am after a bus replacement, but although nobody was there, they’d left a key and everything I needed. The room was large and great for the price, with plenty of outlets for my work gear. My German and the owners’ English were both limited, but we managed over breakfast and had a very entertaining week. I no longer travel to the area for work, and it’s beautiful for a tourist too. Just make sure you’re in the village for the Sunday market.

The bells from the church woke me every morning, ringing every 15 minutes from 6am until 10pm. Aside from that, I couldn’t fault the place. The staff were especially helpful and spoke good English. The food was excellent, and the rooms were cleaned spotless every day.
