My family arrived to a shock. The place was filthy, despite being told by phone that it had just been renovated and was in excellent condition. I had trusted that assurance when I booked the "NIZZA" apartment on Florastrasse for three people, from December 23rd to 26th, 2023. I'd asked to see it in advance, but that request was refused. Cleanliness mattered to me because my family would be staying there. There was dirty underwear from the previous guests in the washing machine, food stuck in the kitchen sink drain, and glasses so dirty in the cupboard that it took real effort to get them out. The refrigerator was filthy, and there were cannabis remnants on the tablecloth. Only hot water came from the bathroom sink. The whole place left a very disappointing impression. I can't understand charging €40 for final cleaning when it's left in that state. We were very disappointed, and I advise people not to book there.

This was the most unpleasant place I've stayed in Europe so far, and I'd strongly advise avoiding this address to save your money and nerves. I've traveled all over Europe and never had service this poor. The apartments are extremely dirty: the floors and bathrooms are worse than in the worst hostels, the kitchens are worse still, refrigerators dirtier than trash cans, and dishes that look like they were never washed. Appliances either don't work or barely work. You need to spend half a day cleaning when you arrive before you can live there. The married couple who "run" the facility handle the "cleanliness" and problems. Once you're living there, they try to impose what seem to me like insane rules, including no smoking in the yard and no noise outside in the yard or on balconies after 7pm. If you point out that you're wrong, they threaten to call the police. If you object, they call the owner and say you're shouting. When I left, they asked me to clean the entire apartment again, even though weekly cleaning was included in the rental price and was never done.

For one person, it might be okay, but personally I found the layout hard to deal with. It feels cramped, and to reach the bedroom you have to cross the whole apartment. The bathroom and toilet have an opening without a door or window. So if you're eating beside someone, it feels like you're eating right next to them while they use the toilet.

As usual, everything was great and very clean. The landlord is friendly and helpful, so I highly recommend it.
