The food was genuinely good, with a huge enough selection that everyone should find something, especially for an all-you-can-eat meal. Sultans bath, the pool and the Sauna were great. They’re not especially big, but we had a lot of fun. There’s a lively feel to the place from the moment you arrive. The building looks exciting, and the live sound effects, paintings, moving sculptures and animators kept kids of all ages engaged. The themed rooms have treasure hunts and rewards for being eco-friendly, and the staff seemed focused on making the stay memorable. Pre-arrival emails also helped set a good tone. A couple of things to know: the AC would have been very welcome. I wouldn’t pay extra for a room overlooking the park, even though the view is lovely, because the park music starts early and can wake you up. With no AC, you can’t just keep the window shut. Captain Coocks Bar was a good place for parents to unwind after the day’s rides, while the kids had plenty to do. We spotted Monopoly boards, but were told they no longer provide game pieces because the in-game money got damaged easily. These days there are Monopoly sets with credit cards and a terminal, so it’d be nice to see the game return to the bar. We left with happy memories and would recommend it.

Everything was clean and modern, and the themed rooms were a nice touch. The buffet food was about what you’d expect. The location is really handy if you’re going to the amusement park.

We liked the hotel and enjoyed our three-night stay. The room was an okay size, and the kids loved the pool and its small slide. You need to book pool time in advance using the QR code at reception. Both the breakfast and dinner buffets were good, though some dishes could be better. The chicken was often tough and dry. The pillows were too thin for us, so bring your own if you like more height under your head. There was no fridge in the room, which might be inconvenient in summer.

The drinks at the bar were a five-star highlight. The room was fine, though the bed felt a bit too hard, and breakfast didn’t impress much. We also had to reserve breakfast time, with only 7:30 available, and dinner ended up being in the park because the only slot was 20:30. It would have been useful to choose meal times when booking the hotel.
