The room I had was huge, with a wardrobe and two single-seat couches. I loved how the elegant decor, with historically relevant drawings and toys, feels nothing like a chain hotel. The whole theme fits with the Toy Museum in the centre of Sonneberg. I arrived outside reception hours, but check-in was easy: someone talked me through it by phone and was super friendly. It’s a really cozy little provincial hotel.

The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were clean, roomy, and comfortable. Spielzeug Hotel is a real gem in Sonneberg, close to the train station and handy for getting around. I’d happily recommend it.

Everything was very clean and breakfast was great. A few things would make the stay better: add an electric kettle, put towel hooks in the bathrooms, and post a guide by the entrance showing the room numbers.

The apartments are awesome, and the rooms are great too. Just so you know, the rooms don't have fridges, and parking can be short sometimes. Still, it's a nice place and everything else was great.

We had a short holiday here, and the hotel and rooms were wonderful. The staff were friendly and nice, and breakfast was super. We'll be back, and I'd recommend it.
