Really nice hotel and the service was great. I’d recommend it, especially if you’re coming to this lovely city for meetings.

We added a sixth night to our March 2024 stay because my husband and I liked Hotel Anno so much. The renovated room and bathroom were very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Even though it’s downtown Sonthofen, nights were quiet. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant was generous and very good. We arrived on Monday, when the hotel and restaurant are closed, but the owner has a night safe for getting the hotel key. He happened to be there when we arrived early and let us into the room before check-in. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and polite. I loved being able to walk to shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries, and the railway station, so I didn’t need a rental car. We’ll book again when we visit my childhood hometown. After a six-day hike through the Allgau, I was hoping for dinner and a quiet night's sleep before my flight. Dinner was good, but the room was a different story. Smoke drifted in through my window, which was above the restaurant entrance where people were smoking, and the music, emcee, and guests downstairs were loud. I had to choose between a hot room and breathing smoke while listening to the noise. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and basic with just enough space, and the train station was a short walk away. I’d come back for the food, but the noise and smoke make me unsure about staying in a room again.

I've been there many times, usually to meet friends for a drink. The quizzes are especially popular, and there's a big outdoor dining area as well as seating inside. I haven't eaten there in a while. Locals call it " Anno ". The building was once the railway station, before a new one was built farther away.
