The balcony had a lovely view and made for a nice spot for dinner. The schnitzel was great, paired with a local beer and a digestif.

The restaurant attached to the hotel is excellent, and breakfast was great too, with a well-stocked buffet and even a grain mill so you can make really fresh muesli. The rooms are spacious and practically furnished, with the option to make coffee or tea. The hotel is ideally placed for leisure activities in the Thuringian Forest. I was very satisfied with my stay.

We had a double room with breakfast and also ate dinner at the restaurant during our January 2026 weekend at Hotel Schöne Aussicht. The room was excellent and very clean, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The food was really great, with the fantastic menu and frequent daily specials. Breakfast couldn't have been better. We'll definitely be back.
