Ferienidyll Alte Eichen

There were birds all over the garden, and deer came from the nearby forest to the fence while we sat by the fire pit in the evenings. It was early March and too cold, but we still spent ages out there. A lovely little retreat with everything you need, and it was all clean.

The garden and pond are beautifully kept, and the house sits on a lovely large property. It’s a charming place to slow down and enjoy the peace and nature. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. We’ll be back! 😊

The retreat among the trees and in that gorgeous garden left me feeling recharged, happy, and refreshed. I joined the yoga retreat (#onedaydarkness) at this beautiful spot, arriving in the evening to a cozy holiday home glowing with candlelight and a fireplace. After a restful night, I woke to the enchanting garden and pond. I highly recommend the retreat and the house, and I’ll definitely return.

The only real positive was the lovely setting by the edge of a field and forest. The terrace was filthy, so I had to sweep it before setting down our luggage. The dirt clearly hadn’t built up in just a few hours or days. Inside, despite a cleaner supposedly having been there right beforehand, there was grime in every corner, under all the furniture, and lint and dirt around the bathroom. The toilet was the last straw. We hadn’t even finished unpacking before we cut our holiday short. The owners were uncooperative. If basic order and cleanliness matter to you, avoid this place. We have photos available to view.
