Restaurant & Pension Storchenklause

I’ve never felt so humiliated. My Swedish friend and I arrived on two motorbikes, exhausted and hungry after riding through a storm. At the hotel restaurant we were immediately told there was no room for us because everything was reserved. There was nothing available for tired hotel guests like us, and nobody spoke English. I had to call a German friend and hand my phone to a woman so he could explain that we needed food and a drink, and ask whether we could order to the room or get pizza from somewhere. It was a really unpleasant experience. Even worse, I understood enough German to hear a waiter laughing with some guests and saying something about those “English” guys. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place if you don’t speak German. The rooms were stuffy and damp. We left the window open all night, but it didn’t help, and the floor was wet from the rain outside. The only positives were the Wi-Fi and the good breakfast.

The food was tasty and reasonably priced, though the menu didn’t have many choices. The restaurant was nice and wasn’t too busy when we visited. I’d recommend stopping by.

A cozy hotel conveniently placed between Tropical Islands, Berlin, and the route home. Breakfast could be better: the waiters walk around, but don’t replenish the food.

We had dinner at the restaurant and everything was fine, no complaints. Good traditional food.
