Aparthotel Markt Fuffzehn

The market views and location are amazing, but I had no privacy and felt unsafe as a solo woman travelling. You can't drive to the hotel, and there is no parking at the accommodation or anywhere nearby. Check-in is at a separate location, so be prepared to carry your luggage back and forth. I found that exhausting. The man who checked me in was very nice, and the service was otherwise alright. But when I returned for towels, the woman at the counter was rude. I had to ask her a second time for my invoice, and she was on the phone and still not nice. There were no towels in the room, and you can be fined for using the rubbish bin unless you take rubbish downstairs to the bins. I find that ridiculous. The stairs are very steep, so the place isn't accessible. My room had the basics, a fridge, one stovetop, and nice views, but it was literally a tiny room, nothing like the full apartments in the pictures. The biggest problem was privacy. First I was given a key card for the wrong room, where a man was sleeping. Sorry again. Then I got the correct keys for apartment no. 3, but you can walk into apartment no. 4 from there, and they can walk into no. 3. When I told reception, they weren't helpful and said that wasn't the case. I have a video of myself walking into someone else's room. I've travelled to Stralsund often, and this was my worst experience there so far. I would never book an apartment here again.

Our stay was great, and we'd definitely come back. The rooms are spacious, very clean, fully renovated and equipped, and have a homey feel. The double bed was big and comfortable. We loved the view from the main square, where the location is amazing. The burger place downstairs leaves a constant grease smell in the hallway, though we didn't notice it in our second-floor room. The stairs are very steep, so I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone with mobility issues. Staff were nice, but there was no information or signage in English at all, as if no foreign visitors ever came to Straslund.

We had a fantastic apartment facing Alter Markt, plus the lovely bonus of a balcony. I'd very much recommend it.

The apartment was big and nicely decorated, and the location was good. It was clean, too. I recommend staying here.
