The location is a real plus, less than five minutes by car from the city center and harbor. Cleanliness was acceptable, about what you’d expect in an average private home. We stayed five nights in the apartment, and it was very utilitarian. Expect the bare necessities, nothing more. The living room had only a four-seat dining table, a two-seat sofa, a coffee table, and a TV on a lowboard. It wasn’t special or cosy, just functional. There was also a small private terrace off the kitchen, with a garden table for four and a grill that had seen better days. The terrace was neglected and overgrown. Free Wi-Fi was a plus, with good speeds of 50-100 Mbps. Still, the property felt poorly maintained inside and out, with little attention to detail or real effort toward guest satisfaction. The decor and wallpapering looked unprofessional. We weren’t able to meet the hosts. Their young daughter briefly showed us the entrance when we arrived and gave us the key. We were told to simply leave it in the lock when we left. The bedroom had a worn double bed with two single mattresses. It creaked at the slightest movement and wasn’t comfortable, though it was still enough to sleep on. There was also an old two-door wardrobe, plus two basic bedside tables with reading lamps. The kitchen had a fridge with freezer compartment, cooktop, oven, filter coffee maker, toaster, and kettle. The oven was new, but the rest of the equipment was very worn, with limescale and surface rust. The cutlery, dishes, and cookware were well past their best, and basic things like scissors, a whisk, and a spatula were missing. The bathroom was basic but adequately equipped. A huge boiler above the bathtub supplied the hot water. It looked unsightly, and the capacity wasn’t enough, though maybe that’s a matter of preference. There was no comfort or amenities here, just a place to stay.
