CLOUD No7 APARTMENTS & SUITES

The place relies on key cards for everything, and that becomes a real problem if yours stops working or goes missing. You can't get into the building or your room, and reception closes at 17:00, so you could be left out in the cold. Even the elevator needs the card, and the intercom is hard to figure out. The shower is controlled by a digital panel too, which seems difficult for a child or an older person to use. It was cold in the apartment, with no heat in the room. I couldn't visit my friend on another floor because my card only worked for my own floor. To get to reception at 13°, I had to go down to zero first. On my second trip I tried the stairs, but they were blocked even though I only needed to go up two floors. If there were a fire, would I be trapped there? The whole setup is unbearable.

I spent about six months living in this building, and it became a home away from home. I’m not from Germany, so I miss all the beauty of Stuttgart, and I miss Cloud No 7 too. The apartment was lovely, with a beautiful view. The location was great, just a couple of blocks from the park, beside a train station and mall, with lots of great restaurants within walking distance.

The reception staff were the bright spot. The woman who checked me in was outstanding and really helpful. She brought a fan to my room within minutes and did what she could to make things comfortable. Still, the room had no air conditioning, and Stuttgart was 95F that week. Keeping the windows open overnight meant a lot of street noise. The parking setup uses a platform and car lift, takes ages to park or get your car out in the morning, and staff have to show you how it works. There was just one thin pillow, one towel, and a quarter roll of toilet paper.

The apartment looked stylish and cozy, with nice modern furniture and a great spot in the city center. But we were glad to leave and definitely won't return. There was no air conditioning, the front desk was open only limited hours, and the shower still smelled after two days of use. We booked for two, but got one towel and one small blanket. When I called on the afternoon of the second day, staff rudely said I should have called earlier because no one was still on site. The booking clearly showed two guests, and we paid the extra charge for two, yet we had to share that blanket sideways, leaving either our upper or lower bodies uncovered both nights. The website says there is direct access to the fitness and wellness area, but use costs 25€ per person per day. We had also booked parking, then staff said we could only use the system while they were around to explain it. We didn't want to change our schedule, so we had to find parking elsewhere.
