Holiday Inn - the niu, Kettle Stuttgart Vaihingen by IHG

What a fab place. The rooms are luxurious, with a modern setup, comfy aircon, a great shower, and soap that smelled divine. Breakfast was artistic and had a huge variety. The hotel is well placed near buses and trains. Special thanks to Illian, Sofia and David.

The hotel’s location is its strongest point, and the place is huge, though it seems built more for photos than much else. We were on the ground floor, and the crowded lobby made us think the hotel was full. Even so, there were just two staff members working during a busy weekend. When my friend and I tried to get food at the restaurant, the receptionist said they could only make pizza and that she had to close the bar to handle check-ins, which took priority. There were only three other tables occupied nearby. We’re still waiting for the food, even though the reception is completely empty now :) We also had a hard time getting basic questions answered. Once we were ignored outright and went back to our room. Another time, after we finally got someone’s attention, the receptionist turned to a colleague and started talking about their internal program. The answer came only after a very awkward wait.

For the price, this hotel is amazing. It was the cheaper option, but I liked it best. The receptionist was professional and kind, and both the bedroom and bathroom were lovely. The only thing missing was a small personal fridge in the room, but that doesn’t change how I feel about the place.

I’ve been staying here for a month, and they still haven’t arranged basic laundry service. For two weeks I’ve been asking the reception each day to connect me with someone who could pick up my clothes, wash them, and bring them back. Every time, I’m told they’ll speak to the manager and leave a note. When I come back later, the new receptionist has no idea what I’m talking about, so I have to start over. This is my fifth follow-up with the same result. I’m really frustrated. Being a foreigner in a new country and dealing with this in cold weather has been miserable. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for a long stay, especially for business.
