Domizil im Schloss

The garden view from our room was lovely, and it was clean, well cared for, and decorated with its own character. Even though we were there for just one night, it felt much longer in the best way. The quiet, natural castle surroundings and thoughtfully prepared breakfast made us feel at home. A warm thank you to the lady of the castle and the whole team.

We paid 220 euros for two nights in the “Apartment with Terrace,” without breakfast, and the value just wasn’t there. There was no terrace, TV, or Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi was supposedly available for a fee, but it didn’t work and there was no information about it. When we arrived on December 6th, the heating and refrigerator weren’t on. There were exposed lamp wires in both the living room and kitchen. The kitchen and bathroom also needed attention: the oven and baking trays were dirty, there were used milk jugs and breadcrumbs in the cupboard, and we found broken hooks and soap residue. The public areas of the building have plenty of ambiance, and a very nice employee handled payment and took note of our comments about the apartments.

Breakfast was well prepared, so thanks to the staff for that. I was very satisfied with what was on offer during my weekend stay, and the price matched the quality. I’d happily return if it works out.

We put it to the test, and you can read the details in the new restaurant guide. The owners’ grasp of management seems as shaky as that of hotel proprietors who lack a high school diploma and try to make a name for themselves while their ignorance shows. They’re trying, but failing.
