We stayed here at the end of October and start of November 2019, only for a day or two while visiting spas. The owners were so friendly. I’ve forgotten their names, but our few chats with them were lovely and full of useful tips about the area. If we’d stayed longer, we’d have gladly bought them a beer or two. Picking up the key as arranged was easy, and we went straight into the little house. It really does feel like one, with small, cozy rooms and ceilings at different heights, like a gingerbread house ☺️ There are two rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom, and everything was spotless. The living room is at the back, with two sofas, a TV, radio, coffee table and a little entertainment unit. The decorations and candles made it a lovely place to wind down in the evening. The kitchen also works as the dining room and passage to the bedroom. It’s simple but practical, with a fridge, stove, oven, microwave, cookware, dishes, cutlery, some utensils, oil and spices. I’m a kitchen person, so this was my favorite spot. I brought a few extra spices and ingredients, and we were able to make good meals. There’s also a bakery nearby for fresh baked goods. The bathroom was very small but perfectly adequate, with a shower. A washing machine and hairdryer were provided. The living room, bedroom and bathroom seemed quite new, though the silver finish on the bathroom radiator was starting to peel. That’s really nitpicking 😎 I was fascinated by the bathroom view, and leaning out a little let me glimpse the original architecture. For a moment, I felt transported to the Middle Ages. I loved it 😂 The bedroom faces the main road, and that was the one real drawback. The low windows make it easy for someone to see in or climb in, and morning traffic from cars and trucks was awful. It was loud, the room vibrated, and vehicles often stopped right outside the window. My partner chose to sleep in the living room, while I stayed in the bedroom with earplugs. The bedroom also has the lowest ceiling, which may be why it isn’t considered a living room. All the windows have exterior roller shutters, which is a plus, but watch out for the flower boxes when lowering them. Smoking isn’t allowed inside, which I really appreciate as a smoker. The entrance is in a small courtyard, where I was allowed to put an ashtray and have a cigarette. I normally only smoke on my balcony at home, so this wasn’t a problem. The weather was awful during our stay, so we couldn’t do much. Hiking in the mud with an umbrella wasn’t appealing, but there’s a golf club around the corner that’s good for walks. We were very happy with the stay and would gladly recommend it. The owners are a lovely family, and their caring nature comes through in the little house. Many thanks, and all the best to you! 🤗
