The hot shower had good pressure, the country-style look is quite charming, and most of the furniture was chosen with taste. But the kitchen is doll-sized, really only enough for breakfast, and there’s very little light. The tiny gable window faces Hörnum, so we needed electric lights even during the day. Those barely helped, while the harsh ceiling light was unpleasant. Reading in an armchair or playing games at the dining table wasn’t comfortable. The wooden chairs were very uncomfortable, the armchair was worn out, and the stained sofa was completely unacceptable. We found dirt behind the nightstand, too. The stair railing to the loft bed and the sofa were not clean, though the rest of the apartment was hygienically acceptable. The layout and furnishings have some charm if you like tiny houses, and it can feel cozy if you spend the day outside, bring a blanket to cover the sofa, and don’t move the furniture. The 32-square-meter listing is accurate, so the place is tiny: a dark attic room with a kitchenette, shower room, and double bed in the loft. From outside the building looks large, but it seems to be split into around twelve to fourteen mini-apartments. The chrome and glass coffee table clashes with the decor and looks like an unwanted heirloom. We texted the rental service about the sofa on arrival, but they ignored it, as if they’d seen it before and didn’t care now that the rent was paid. That was poor form and cost them points. Last year we rented a completely filthy apartment from Nebel Rentals in Haus Delfin in Hörnum, so we had called ahead this time to ask specifically about cleanliness. They assured us it would be clean, which turned out not to be true. We won’t book with them again and can only recommend them to a limited extent.
