The rooms still have an elegant, first-class feel, and the beds are very comfortable. The bathroom toiletries are from Molten&Brown. Breakfast is my favorite part, especially the Bircher muesli. Everything is fresh and there’s a good choice of hot and cold dishes. Breakfast was included in my rate. I came for a wedding, and the hotel is a lovely romantic place to get married. The team did a great job with the preparations and layout, and the service was outstanding. There’s also a new restaurant about 50 meters from the main hotel, definitely worth trying. This was probably my third visit, after a gap of three or four years, and I was happy to find the same warm, welcoming service. At the front desk, Mr Jager, Miss Wiengand, and Miss Kirchberg were especially impressive. In the breakfast area, Ms Micha was wonderful, and Christian was there too. The owners, Mr & Mrs Johansen, and the GM, Johannes, really know how to make guests happy. I left with great memories of the wedding and the staff. Benen-Diken-Hof comes highly recommended for a short or long stay, or any kind of event.

The spa is wonderfully relaxing, with several saunas and a Turkish bath at just the right temperature and humidity. Service was outstanding and breakfast excellent. Wattenmeer is within walking distance, while the open North Sea and its 40-kilometer sandy beach are reachable by bus, which runs every 1-3 hours. Hotel staff can also provide a shuttle. Dinner is VERY expensive, and some wine pairings are tremendous, such as a Künstler Riesling and a Shiraz from Baden-Württemberg. The food itself wasn’t anything to write home about, and nearby Amici is another option.

The food is excellent and worth the price, but the service let the meal down. We waited about 25-30 minutes for our first drinks, and the large boards they use to show the menu blocked the view from our table until we asked for them to be moved. The food is why I’m giving it four stars. Service felt like one star.

Going to Sylt once a year for a week or two is a family tradition, and Benen-Diken-Hof is where we usually stay. The staff are warm and welcoming. I always look forward to the “langschläfer frühstuck,” and the location is great too. The cozy bar is worth a visit for a drink or two.

I came for the spa, and the setup is modern and really good. There are four different saunas, an outdoor area, two relaxation spaces, and a small pool that seems more geared toward kids.
