Mimosa Suites

Such a lovely weekend here. The room was amazing, nicely decorated, really clean, and everything felt high quality. I’d definitely come back :)

The room matched the pictures and the location is very central, but ours was incredibly dirty. Sand covered the floor, bed and bathroom, and the whole bathroom was dusty. On our first morning, the shower drain failed and water flooded the shower, bathroom and bedroom. We got in touch with the landlord, who was reachable at first and promised to sort it out. He had the sand removed, but the room still floods every time we shower. We used our own towels to dry up and weren’t given any fresh ones for the booking. That’s completely unacceptable. The walls are thin, too. You can hear people in the hallway as well as conversations and footsteps from the apartment upstairs. It wasn’t very relaxing when they weren’t quiet or when there were children.

The room looked nicely furnished, but it was absolutely filthy, and the non-smoking room was full of smoke. I had to insist quite a bit before we could move to another room. We'd stayed at Haus Mimosa once before, but there won't be another visit. In May 2023, we stayed for just under two weeks, and the full amount had already been paid six months ahead, in 2022. Then in December 2025 (!!), I suddenly got a final payment reminder saying the stay was unpaid. I spent three hours on the phone with Commerzbank before I got the bank statement, then sent “the proof” to Mr. Schlote. When I called, he was extremely unfriendly and said I had to prove that I'd paid. Nobody even apologized. That's no way to treat guests!!

The whole atmosphere was passive-aggressive, and it made it hard to relax. We won't be coming back. When we arrived, we were told to carry our luggage across to the hotel in the rain while an employee drove over alone in a large van. Once we got there, they sent us straight back because our room was ready after all. While putting our bags away, we got paint on our hat from a drip coming through a hole in the ceiling. When we asked about it, the answer was a curt “I know nothing about that.” The service was poor, and the staff were unfriendly, especially the older woman at reception.
