Breakfast was excellent, with the usual German cold buffet, and you could ask for eggs made how you like them. The hotel matched what the booking details promised: clean, dependable, and typical of a German village hotel, at a reasonable price for the area. My room was airy, bright, and fine for a short business stay, and the Wi-Fi worked well enough for me to work there. It’s in a small village near the center of the region, about 30 minutes from Stuttgart, with easy motorway access, though the main roads can get busy. Check-in only starts at 3 pm, so arriving earlier means waiting.

The Biergarten was a favorite, especially sitting outside, meeting people, and having a bier or two with Dave and Ines. Their food stand serves the best hamburgers, and the onsite restaurant is delicious, though it only opens for dinner. David and Ines are welcoming, look after you well, and have great suggestions for the area. The guesthouse is more than 500 years old, but the interior has been updated nicely while keeping its Old World charm. We loved the delicious breakfast, including eggs cooked to order, and the water dispenser in reception as well as water in our room. It was lovely to sleep with the windows open, and the artwork throughout the hotel is worth taking time to appreciate. Ines is so talented. You can tell this couple really cares about what they do. This is the only place we’ll stay in this part of Germany, and we can’t wait to return for our third visit as soon as we can get back.

The breakfast was wonderful, with a great range of German foods for a very good price. David and his wife were friendly and helpful, and we’d happily come back. One little shower tip: if the light switches off, just open the door to trigger the motion light.

There’s good parking, and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The staff are fantastic, super nice. Breakfast is pretty good too, with a bit of everything.
