The fitness and sauna areas were clean and nice, and the bathroom was good. I was there for a workplace safety course seminar, so we had rooms prepared for the participants. They were functional and clean, though sparsely furnished and equipped, and the TV seemed too small for a room that size. The food was the big problem. Breakfast wasn’t good, the coffee was awful and didn’t even smell like coffee, and the buffet was boring and tasteless. Sorry, but you could really do better.

The pillows were too soft, and the Wi-Fi was poor, which might be a plus if you want to disconnect and go offline. The rooms were fine and big enough, and the staff were mostly friendly and professional. The food was good, with many local and organic ingredients. The historic castle has been remodeled and sits right by the Elbe, with a park and paths along the river shore. It’s a lovely place for a break, to relax and unwind for a night or two. If you’re travelling by bike, stop here too. Stendal and historic Tangermünde are not far away.

I was here for a seminar. The bed was small, but the room was okay, and the main part of the castle is lovely. I appreciated that the restaurant was flexible about catering to my gluten-free preference.

The only real downside during my workshop stay was that hot water wasn’t really available in the morning. The place itself is beautiful, and although the rooms are a little outdated, that’s fine in a castle.
