Dreiburgensee

We were sent to a hotel 35 km away after a water leak, even though the problem was already known the day before. Nobody warned us in advance, and the staff weren't very helpful. I wouldn't recommend the place based on its service.

An abandoned place.

The cleaning and kitchen teams did good work, but our stay from 22-26 February 2026 was marred by several problems. When the heat wasn't working in our first room, we waited over half an hour in the cold while different people checked it. We had our 1.5-year-old son with us. The next room had cold radiators too. When we raised it, we were told there was nothing they could do and that we could leave if we didn't like it. Someone even tried to take the keys from us. We felt badly treated just for asking for a warm room, and couldn't understand why staff with that attitude worked in tourism or could try to make guests leave. There was maintenance during our visit, and the hotel's water was shut off for three hours one day. We found it strange that this was done in the daytime and thought it could have been scheduled at night. We were quietly playing with our son in the playroom with the door closed so he wouldn't run out and our noise wouldn't bother anyone. There was no sign saying the door had to stay open. An employee suddenly opened it carelessly and hit our son. Thankfully, he wasn't seriously hurt. After opening it, the employee just propped it so it couldn't close and left. We couldn't see why they did that. The employee apologized later, but the harm had already happened. At checkout, we were asked to pay extra. When we refused, the employee became unpleasant and sent us to someone else, who sorted it out. The facilities are very nice, but we found the hotel poorly managed by rude employees who acted as if they owned the place and didn't like people. We hope management addresses this and hires kinder, more helpful staff.

The lake views and being right by nature made the location priceless, and the open-air museum across from the hotel was a lovely extra. Parking right outside is limited, but there are plenty of spaces across the road. Take care if your car sits low, though, as there are a few bumps. I learned that the hard way 🙈. We also really enjoyed the food and drinks. We had more than enough over our four days, even if some people might expect more than currywurst and fries for the "lunch snack." The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and my husband liked the sauna. The pool felt a little small to me, though in summer there's always the lake. We had a wonderful four-day stay and booked all-inclusive at a very fair price. Renovations are still going on. Our comfort room on the second floor left little to be desired. A fridge and kettle would be worth discussing, but we didn't consider them essential. The separate shower and toilet were especially nice. The internet was occasionally unstable, but that's forgivable, and it seems they're working on it. We've already recommended the hotel wholeheartedly to friends and family.
