Hotel Toepperhof

We felt so comfortable spending the evening at Frau Berg's Toepperhof. The wine, espresso and homemade walnut liqueur were lovely, but the warm welcome and the food were what made it special. Ms. Berg had asked about ingredients we disliked or needed to avoid before we arrived, then greeted us herself and showed us the thoughtfully prepared menu. We began with a fresh melon and cucumber salad with mint, then had red lentil soup with coconut milk and a tasty, hearty, spicy tomato topping. The creamy Hokkaido pumpkin risotto brought autumn to the table. Ms. Berg explained that it was a proper traditional risotto, made with quite a bit of physical effort. A roasted zucchini blossom filled with ricotta was another highlight. Dessert was roasted pineapple with aronia jam. It was so good we couldn't get a photo in time. We also learned a lot about the dishes, and you can taste the passion and care Frau Berg puts into cooking. We'll definitely return. Best regards

I've enjoyed Angela Berg's menu at Toepperhof several times, and every evening has felt special. Everyone I've brought along has been thrilled by this real “hidden gem.” It's right on my doorstep, with a beautiful setting, delicious food, attentive service and great conversation. We were welcomed into a charming atmosphere and treated to a vegetarian menu that was a flavor explosion, from the first course through the fourth, which capped off the meal beautifully. The hostess had asked in advance about food intolerances and put together a menu that felt more personal than any we'd had before. We'd gladly return and highly recommend it. My girlfriend and I tried Töpperhof for the first time today, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our lovely, friendly hostess prepared everything fresh, and we had a nice conversation with Dear Mrs. Berg. Thanks so much for the wonderful meal and chat. We'll definitely come back with our husbands. We can wholeheartedly recommend Töpperhof, finally something special and vegetarian!
