Park-Hotel Timmendorfer Strand

A cozy, romantic place.

We'd already been traveling for three hours when my friend, who is terminally ill with cancer, needed a restroom. We were heading to the beach to fulfill one last great wish of hers, to put her feet in the sand once more and enjoy the sea view. After parking directly across from the hotel, we walked past it and saw two women sitting outside smoking. I asked if my friend could use their restroom because she couldn't wait any longer to find one. They flatly refused without explaining why and kept puffing away, so we had to move on. It was a moment of need, and I can't understand how someone could refuse help like that. I wish them no ill will, only that one day they find themselves in the same situation and know what it's like to be sick and denied access to a restroom. As far as the human side goes, I absolutely can't recommend this Garni Hotel 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

The breakfast room was welcoming, and the buffet had plenty of variety. We were greeted warmly, and our room was neat and clean with everything needed in the bathroom. It’s a small, comfortable hotel beside the spa gardens, a good fit for a few days on the Baltic Sea. There’s no pool, sauna, or gym, so anyone after luxury or lots of extras should look elsewhere. Also, although there’s an elevator, the hotel isn’t wheelchair accessible. My room had a bathtub with a shower, which could be difficult for older guests.

The location made it easy to get to the beach, the town’s little shops, and its good restaurants, while still staying quiet and central. I spent a week here in June and felt right at home. Ms. Schlichting and her team were so friendly, and the service was lovely. My spacious top-floor room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and I had a balcony facing the old spa gardens. Breakfast was generous and lovely every morning. Thanks again!
