The house itself was lovely and well furnished. Everything worked and was clean, though it could get a bit noisy, probably because some energetic children were staying upstairs. In the basement there’s a small pool, a children’s playroom, a ping-pong room, and a place to store bikes. There’s plenty to do indoors if the weather turns bad, so I’d recommend it for families. The beach is very close, too. We were there for a few nights while visiting relatives in Lübeck, with a dog we’d adopted only four months earlier. In peak season, Niendorf can be tricky with a dog because dogs aren’t allowed on the beach. There’s a small dog beach a little farther along, within walking distance. When I took our dog there, who couldn’t be off leash, I ran into some pretty disrespectful people who thought dogs being allowed to run free meant they could do whatever they liked. Three dogs ran toward us, one growling. I asked their owners to call them back and got a barrage of insults.

A lovely, cozy little holiday apartment with everything you need, in a quiet spot. The children's room is a bit small, but otherwise I’ve no complaints. There’s a private pool and playroom downstairs, plus a small garden, and it’s dog friendly. The beach, promenade, large seawater pool, and supermarket are all nearby, around a ten-minute walk.

Apartment 10 was in a great location, and the beds were fine. But the cleanliness really wasn’t up to standard. There was dust and cobwebs in the corners, mold on the Roman blind, and dead flies all over the window frames when we opened the windows. The playroom in the basement looked like it hadn’t been used in ages. Such a shame.

The complex was otherwise impeccable, clean, in good condition, and well furnished. But in apartment number 5, one of the mattresses in the children’s room had two big urine stains. I found that disgusting and completely unacceptable. The mattresses in that room weren’t high-end ones, so the operator should be able to replace them quickly and cheaply. This was my only criticism, but it greatly affected the overall impression. Hygiene should be a priority.

The beach is only 300 meters away, and the pool and children’s playroom were great. We felt comfortable and had a lovely holiday overall. Apartment 13 was clean enough, though it could use a more thorough cleaning of the ceilings and ventilation. The building is quite noisy, and there’s no dishwasher.
