We had a great stay at Wankner House three years ago. It was clean, very cozy, and good value. The location made it easy to enjoy the countryside while still being about a 45-minute drive from Salzburg, which worked well for a day trip. Lake Chiemsee and several lesser-known but equally lovely lakes are also nearby. The owners were welcoming even though we arrived late in the evening.

We had a lovely time here, and so did the kids and our dog. The house was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. We’d forgotten butter, and the hosts kindly helped us out. They were very friendly, and we have no complaints at all. Thanks again for the hospitality, we’d be happy to return.

The hosts were pleasant and friendly, and a highchair and travel cot were available. There are theoretically three bedrooms, though one is set up with two fold-out beds. The cleaning was a real letdown: the oven was dirty, and there was dried feces on the small toilet’s door. We also found no salt, dishwasher liquid, dishcloths, or cleaning cloths. I didn’t want to spend vacation cleaning up after other people.

There’s plenty of room in a lovely, quiet setting, and the landlord was friendly. A very nice beach is just 3.3 km away.
