The apartment’s interior and decorations were lovely, and the rooms and beds were alright, but the layout and construction left me with questions. The kitchen was much too small, the outlet placement felt dangerous, and the sofa bed was very uncomfortable. The place was dusty and clearly needed a proper clean, though it wasn’t messy or full of trash. It seemed like regular upkeep had been missed for a while. The accommodation is in the nice town of Todmos, near a bakery, several banks, and a hiking trail. It’s fairly central, and you can drive to other trails.

The host was very friendly, and the room was clean. Breakfast was prepared as requested, and the value for money was excellent. No complaints!
We really enjoyed room 27. It was clean, modern, idyllic, and lovely, and we’d gladly return. The room had a small kitchen, a small bathroom with a shower, a balcony, and a small bedroom with a garage reserved for me. Rothaus suppositories and coffee capsules were included as a bonus. I’d looked at several hotels online before choosing Kupferkanne for our first stay there, and it turned out to be a good call. Mr. Schenk was quick and easy to communicate with. I’d driven back to my old hometown to take my partner on a little trip through the southern Black Forest. Rhineland-Palatinate, where I live now, has beautiful places too, but the Black Forest will always be unique. Thanks to Mr. Schenk and the team at Gästehaus Kupferkanne.
This is our second stay in the spacious, old-fashioned apartment. It’s very clean, especially the bathroom. The owner is friendly and easy to reach, and even told us we didn’t need to pay until we left.
We slept wonderfully in the beds, with just-right mattresses and duvets, and loved relaxing on the comfortable couch in the cozy living room. The apartment is tastefully furnished, and the landlady has clearly put a lot of care into it. We felt at home right away. It’s on the second floor of the former Kupferkanne apartment hotel in a quiet side street, closed to motorcycles at night. There’s an elevator and an underground parking space. The layout suited us well: a large and a small bedroom, a spacious living room with kitchenette, a bathroom, and a balcony. The kitchen was practical and had everything we needed, even sharp knives. There was fresh milk, butter, eggs, and Senseo coffee pods waiting for us, the best welcome supplies we’ve ever had. Thank you again! Free Wi-Fi was available too. We used the apartment as a base for local hikes and highly recommend the circular trails through the gorges. In the evenings we mostly ate out, and especially liked the Hotel Maien, where the food was outstanding. We often ended the day on the balcony enjoying the fresh air. The one drawback was the view: a derelict 1970s building blocked part of what would otherwise have been a beautiful panorama. We just looked past it.
