It’s a traditional, beautiful Black Forest style house. Some parts are a little older, but everything is extremely well maintained and very clean. The sound insulation is impressive, both from outside noise and between rooms. Close the door and you hear nothing. The staff were excellent, including with advice on things to do nearby and help in an emergency. The setting in the southern High Black Forest is very nice.

For the price, the rooms were really good. I stayed two nights and had a good time. Service wasn’t that great, but I’d still recommend it if you’re not too picky about that.

We only ate at the restaurant, so I can’t comment on the hotel. The food was good, though nothing special, and the prices were reasonable. It’s a fairly standard restaurant for the area. There’s an English menu, which you can’t always count on in Todtmoos. Staff were helpful, but not especially quick.

I’m giving 3 points to the part of Löwen Hotel, Auf dem Köpfle. As for Löwen itself, the breakfast is very poor.
