Mike‘s Mosel Lodge

A quiet, low-key place that’s a bit hidden away, with friendly staff and a nice breakfast.

The staff’s friendliness and recommendations, along with breakfast, made up for quite a lot. There’s also a thoughtful honor system fridge in the stairwell stocked with wine, beer, and soft drinks. There isn’t much to do in town itself, but their tips helped us find plenty to do. The bar and entrance area are stylish and very nice. We were shocked by the stairwell and our room, though. The bed was easily the best part, super comfortable and a good size, and the balcony overlooking the Moselle River was lovely. The train was a bit annoying, but manageable. There were no sanitary bags in the toilet, the bedside lamps should really be mounted on the ceiling, and we found stains on the carpet and cobwebs in the corner by the refrigerator door. I’d give it 3 out of 5. If the rest were improved, we’d gladly return.

The breakfast buffet was generous and delicious, and we got very generous service on both evenings. We spent a lovely weekend at the lodge with friends, staying in functional rooms on the third floor. The building with the rooms is about 50 meters from Mike's Lodge restaurant. On both nights, we booked a package with a winemaker's platter and complimentary drinks between 6 and 8 pm. A heartfelt thank you to Mike and his team.

It’s a peaceful location near the Moselle River, and the comfortable beds made for a pleasant stay. The station is very close, so you can occasionally hear a train pass. Still, it’s easy to get to all the major towns and cities, and I’d highly recommend the place. The staff were friendly and made us feel well looked after. They serve light snacks in the evening, and there are several recommended restaurants close by. We booked a short trip to the Moselle region and stayed at Mike's Mosel Lodge.
