Waking up to birdsong from the wide-open window was lovely, and our room was spotless. At breakfast, Mr. Strobel brought out a beautifully arranged spread with garden herbs and jars of the manor’s own honey. He made scrambled or fried eggs when we asked, and they were just right, as was the hot, fragrant coffee. The sausage and cheese came from local producers. We were especially touched when Mr. Strobel baked a birthday cake for our son. That kind of hospitality stays with you. He was handling a long list of daily jobs, from reception to the kitchen and garden, with help from just one housekeeper, yet he greeted us himself after we parked and was warm and calm throughout. The drive through the quiet fields west of Rügen already felt like a breath of fresh air. Past a small grove, the lovingly restored Strobel Manor House sits amid wide-open countryside and a real sense of calm. This doesn’t feel like some cookie-cutter hotel concept. If you’re after rural quiet, clean rooms, a special breakfast and heartfelt hospitality, Gutshaus Strobel makes you feel at home. We didn’t want to leave and will be back. Even though we arrived late, we were able to check in after arranging it in advance. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast was well worth having, with fresh, local food. A lovely place to unwind.

The rooms are perfectly adequate in this small manor house with a few holiday apartments in Trent. What really stood out was how friendly and helpful the owners were. We always felt comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. Definitely worth booking. We’d love to return.

What a peaceful place to unwind. The manor house is in the countryside near Trent, in a quiet part of Rügen, set back on a large property with a generous garden. Guests can enjoy the small animals, barefoot path and trampoline, and the whole setting feels idyllic. The breakfast buffet is a real highlight: plentiful, varied and beautifully laid out. Mr. Strobel prepares it with so much care. He’s also a beekeeper, and you can buy regional products like honey. The atmosphere feels almost like family. Communication is open, and no question is a bother, so you feel more like you’re staying with friends. Thank you for the hospitality and a wonderful stay.
