Romantik Hotel Schloss Hohenstein

The staff made us feel welcome and were really helpful throughout our stay. The restaurant served refined dishes with an interesting twist. The gardens and huge grounds are pristine, just like something from a movie. Staying here felt like getting “Schlossed” in a magnificent castle hotel. Inside, everything is very well kept and modernized, while the high wooden ceilings and connecting passages still preserve the castle atmosphere.

We had a lovely dinner here. The service was attentive, and the room felt quiet and comfortable. The dishes aim for a fine-dining experience, though you shouldn't expect Michelin-star standards. With that in mind, you'll likely be satisfied. It's one of the best restaurants around here.

We were absolutely blown away by the three-course meal. Every dish had something distinctive in its composition, flavor or presentation, and the wine list was just as impressive, with regional Franconian, Austrian and other selections chosen and served with real expertise. The hotel and restaurant both offered stellar value for the price, and the experience felt exceptional. We'd love to return for an anniversary or simply to treat ourselves to another memorable dinner. Five stars are deserved across the board. As for the hotel, we had a wonderful stay in this romantic castle hotel, tucked away in a quiet forest setting atop a small mountain. The park is lovely and romantic, and birdsong was about the only sound around. Rooms vary in size and style, from modest ones in the nearby annex to larger, castle-like rooms in the main building. The bathrooms are modern and spotless. Breakfast is served at the table, and both the quality and quantity were excellent. I don't think I've ever had bread that good at a hotel. This review covers both the hotel and restaurant. The team apparently took over running them in the fall of last year (2020), so older reviews may not accurately describe the service now.

We stayed here for our anniversary and enjoyed every penny's worth. The room was warm, comfortable, clean and inviting, and the food and staff were excellent. There was nothing we could find to complain about. Maybe we're easy to please, but we certainly were pleased. Thank you for a lovely stay!
