The morning checkout was a frustrating end to our Trier holiday. At 10am, other guests were waiting too. We wanted to ask about leaving our luggage while sightseeing before onward travel, so we waited instead of using the key box. After 25 minutes more people had arrived and the lobby was full. We all tried calling, and looked for staff in the breakfast area, where a very friendly woman was working, though she wasn't hotel staff. It seemed nobody was coming, so we left carrying our luggage. Check-in had been simple, and the staff we met were helpful and friendly. The rooms were quite basic. We were also concerned about the kettle: it had no automatic shutoff when the water boiled, and the first time we used it, it boiled over aggressively close to sockets, cables, and electronics.

The room was dirty, with grime on the walls and things on the curtains. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. The website says parking is free, but spaces are limited to ten. We were directed to a supposedly free parking garage, and it wasn't free at all. AWFUL service. I would never return or recommend staying here. Go somewhere else.

September 2025 stay. Being next to the Roman Bridge is a plus. The rest felt tired, neglected, dirty, and mouldy, with electrics that seemed potentially dangerous. Beverage trays hadn't been refreshed, parking was limited, and the parking directions were very poor. Staff seemed desperate to finish their shift and at times came across as indifferent, much like the general state of the hotel.

The main reason for my 2-star rating is the huge amount of mould in our bathroom. That's appalling in a 3-star hotel in Germany. The location right by the river is nice if you like walks or have pets, and the hotel has a well-prepared, fully automated check-in. Breakfast wasn't anything special, so we went into the centre for brunch instead.

The shower had mould, the rooms were small and very basic, and the flat-screen TV was more like a small computer monitor. The car park was being rebuilt. Walking to the old town takes you through the red-light district. Nothing here recommended itself to us, especially at the high price. We've had much better stays in Germany for far less.
