There’s a sushi and wine bar just downstairs, and Trier is where I’d book again on my next stop. I had a swell time. The room was spacious and clean enough to feel comfortable, with the basic amenities readily available. The location was great, though the city view was only moderate. I’d suggest planning for parking ahead of time.

Really comfortable apartment with plenty of space. Just missing air conditioning and a microwave.

For the price, the apartment is spacious, and the kitchen is extremely well supplied, even with an oven and cookware. They provide olive oil, salt and pepper, but somehow I missed having cutlery. The bathroom has towel warmers, which I loved, though there’s only soap for amenities. The towels weren’t good quality, and the double bed had two single duvets. The pillows were very soft, even the spare ones. No parties, either. Parking is limited, and there’s no employee on site, so keep your phone charged to access the codes through the app or website. The instructions are clear. The building sits by a busy road, which might bother light sleepers despite the double glazing and window screen. The apartment door is heavy and takes a push. The room setup could be more practical. There’s no socket by the bed, and the single one at the table is awkwardly placed. It’s a lovely apartment for even a one-night stay. 3-/10.

We were six people, with three rooms booked for two nights during a stop in Germany. Getting through the main entrance was hard because the keypad was in German, then we spent more than two hours trying to get into our rooms. You had to enter a code, confirm it, then turn the knob in the direction of an arrow, but there was no arrow. We tried pushing and turning both ways. The rooms were on separate floors, and all three had the same faulty lock. There was no help available at first. We were hot, tired and frustrated until we called and an advisor gave us a new code. That worked for my room, but after I left, I couldn’t unlock it again. My friends also struggled every time they tried to re-enter. We tried several times, with no luck. We left and moved to the Holiday Inn Express next door because we were worried we’d get locked out again after a night out, especially with no late-night help. The room had no air conditioning, another letdown. I can’t say more about the stay because we didn’t stay, and my friend who booked is trying to get a refund. I wouldn’t recommend it. It isn’t a hotel with a reception, and the hall felt creepy and insecure. We were glad to move to the Holiday Inn Express, where the room was clean and cosy, staff greeted us at reception, and there was a TV, air conditioning and free breakfast. It was also cheaper.

The room itself wasn’t bad, but there was no A/C, which made it horrible on a hot summer night. I had to use their noisy portable fan, but it was useless from bed because it sat at floor level. When we arrived, the door code wouldn’t work. I texted the service number and waited 15 minutes for a reply. While waiting, I started thinking they’d taken the money and left me stranded. For €118, the customer service and price were a terrible combination.
