Ricks City Hotel 2

One of the three beds in our room was a folding camp bed, and it was so uncomfortable that you couldn't lie on it. Someone 1.90 m tall couldn't fit on it either. We had booked two rooms for eight people on a city trip to Trier. Completely unacceptable for a place calling itself a hotel, you wouldn't even expect this in a hostel. Worst hotel experience ever!

The only good thing was the location. Our son's bedroom window opened onto a roof space covered in bird droppings, with an old beer bottle growing mold. It was disgusting and seemed unhygienic to breathe near. The rooms had no air conditioning, and it was stifling hot. I asked the woman at the desk if there were fans but got no reply. For what we paid, you'd think there'd at least be a small fan. We paid €298 for a family room and a triple room, plus €73.50 for breakfast for five adults and two children. Breakfast was very sparse. The hotel itself was basic, and although the rooms were clean, they were cheaply done. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

The location is great, but it's surrounded by hustle and bustle, so sleeping was a little noisy 🤪. The lack of air conditioning was a downside; it would have been great to have it.

The breakfast was lovely. Everything was very clean and comfortable.
