Wein & Gästehaus Ballmann

The studio was lovely, spotless, and thoughtfully furnished, with everything we needed. The terrace was a nice extra, and the surrounding landscape is lovely to see. The icing on the cake was our very kind landlady.

Breakfast was generous, with fresh rolls, eggs, cold cuts, cheese, cereal, yogurt, juice, and freshly ground coffee. Any rolls left over were offered for a picnic. The room was large and beautifully furnished, with a comfortable wide bed and plenty of outlets for our phones and tablets. It faced the street and was fairly quiet, though trucks passed in the morning. There was private parking, plus a cozy shared lounge and balcony with a lovely view. The self-service wine there was made by the hosts. A kettle, tea, and cups were in the room. Towels were changed on the second day, though we didn't need that, but not on the third. We couldn't use the TV because the remote's batteries were dead. Bring your own shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Liquid hand soap was provided and could serve as shower gel. There aren't many restaurants in the village, and they don't all open every day. On Wednesday evening, the neighbors served delicious "Flammkuchen" (flancakes), with friendly service and no need to book.

We spent one night at this guesthouse and were pleasantly surprised. The view was beautiful, the service was great, and the house was very clean. Breakfast was delicious. We could charge our bikes safely in the wine cellar, and the fridge had tasty wines they make themselves. Highly recommended.

We especially enjoyed the evenings on the shared balcony, chatting with the other guests and the Ballmanns over good wine as the day wound down. The place is in a beautiful spot in Trittenheim, and our room was tidy, wonderfully clean, and comfortable. Staff checked each day whether we needed anything, including fresh towels. The spotless room was especially reassuring for someone with allergies. The small breakfast buffet was put together with care and had fruit, muesli, orange juice, cold cuts, cheese, different rolls, freshly cooked eggs, yogurt, milk, and a fully automatic coffee machine, plus more. Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Ballmann for a lovely stay. We'd be happy to return next year.
