Altstadthotel Pfaubräu

The inn is in an area that’s fairly easy to get to, and the breakfast included in my plan was the usual kind you’d expect at a German inn. The room was modest and perhaps a little small, but fine for spending a night. There’s an ice cream shop across the road right in front of the hotel that’s a must visit. I’d call this an average German inn. 😊

The church bells nearby are quite loud, even at night, and annoying when you’re staying there. The bedroom has only small lamps by the bed, each with its own switch, plus a switch where you might expect a main light, but no big bedroom lamp. There’s a bathroom and a bedroom. The rooms are nice, though nothing special, and the restaurant has a pleasant, typically Bavarian feel.

The café left a bad impression: 5€ for a cup of tea is insane. Otherwise, it’s a good place to stay for a good price. The hotel is modern and in the center of a small town, with a big room and a large, clean bathroom. Staff are friendly and speak English well, and breakfast is good.

I’d never recommend this hotel. The beds were bad, the rooms small, and the customer service some of the worst I’ve ever seen. As a foreigner, I felt I was treated differently. The rules are unclear and different from what you’d expect at a normal hotel, and it doesn’t deserve 3 stars. It claims to have a pool, fitness center, and laundry service, but it doesn’t. Every 2 days you get locked out of your room, which is annoying. It’s overpriced, and I felt they took advantage of someone who doesn’t know German. One of the worst hotels.
