Hotel Pfauen

We came as a small group with a child and no reservation. The waiter was professional and friendly, but the owner was rude while taking our order, arranging the table, and serving us. We wondered whether our casual clothes or bringing a child had offended her. My husband even questioned whether there might be some Thai-Chinese conflict we didn’t know about. After reading other customers’ feedback, though, I realized people often find the owner’s attitude negative. The meals were tasty and good quality, but very expensive. The atmosphere was nice, too. For food lovers who don’t mind the service and are willing to pay more for a good meal, it’s still a place worth checking out.

The Thai restaurant is the heart of the place, and it was excellent, with service well above average. The rooms look like they’re from the 80s, but they were cozy and clean. A full menu with wine for two came to under 300€ for one night. A good idea for a weekend escape.

You can watch a professional make the sushi fresh, though I can’t speak to the Japanese food itself. The Thai dishes were authentic and very high quality. Service was courteous without hovering. Prices are on the high side, but the food is worth it.

The bathroom was nice, but the rest of the hotel felt a bit old and was very overpriced, both the rooms and the food. The young woman with glasses gave us amazing service. I can’t say the same for the people who seemed to be the owners, who rushed us around and weren’t very kind.
